A letter from PHARA’s Legal Counsel has been sent to the Chief Justice Ronald A. Skolrood requesting that the matter be assigned to a case management judge:
“At the most recent chambers hearing on April 23, 2026, in this proceeding, Justice Masuhara characterized this litigation as “very complex” and “significant constitutional litigation” of high public interest. Justice Masuhara indicated that he would be reaching out to the Chief Justice to recommend that a dedicated case management judge be assigned to this matter, and counsel for the parties were granted leave to write to the court referencing that recommendation.”
If approved, this would mean that one dedicated judge would oversee the case from start to finish, helping manage the complex legal and procedural issues involved. It would also help ensure greater consistency, efficiency, and timely handling of this significant constitutional challenge.
